Cate on her intellectual approach to fashion:

“There are people out there who sculpt things on the body. I mean, you spend half an hour with Karl Lagerfeld and he’s so keyed into your current movements, and he’s always expanding himself. He gives you 20 books to read, and you’re enriched. At that kind of level, there’s a really interesting crossfertilisation (of culture) that goes on.”

Cate on how she avoids falling into the many traps of Hollywood:

“In the film industry, there’s this real sense that it’s not just what you’re doing at the time, but it’s where it’s going to lead you. That’s antithetical to the way I think. I’ve always been much more interested in the process, rather than the outcome. It’s taken me a long time to kind of remember that these things come out and they (generate enormous) exposure.

Cate on acting:

“It’s a fascinating thing to do with one’s life. It’s sort of like not having to make a choice about how one spends one’s life. You get to have so many different sets of experiences. The journey is immensely broad.”

The Oscar-winning actress plays legendary singer Bob Dylan in the new biopic ‘I’m Not There’ directed by Todd Haynes. Blanchett admits that she had to make some major adjustments to her body.
She told W Magazine:

“I had to strap those breasts down, and just go for it!”

Cate decided to star in the film after seeing ‘Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story’, which acted out the tragic anorexic singer’s life story with Barbie dolls. Read the rest of this entry »
